This hardy, adaptable, wide-ranging shrub has many species. They grow in openings of a variety of forest types in the dry to moist climatic regions.
Medicinal/ Other Uses:
Roses are all about love and protection, allowing an open heart. The flowers in spring and summer turn to rose hips in fall and are high in vitamin C and bioflavonoids for complete assimilation. They are nourishing for the circulatory and endocrine systems and perfect for replenishing reserves when going through or recovering from stress or a broken heart. Indigenous cultures used the various rose species for many medicinal and spiritual purposes, one being protection and spiritual cleansing for death and illness.
