About

There is dual meaning in the name Macro Love. One is regarding the macro lens for photography, used to magnify subjects for close-up detail, and my love for this type of photography. The other, is regarding the meaning of the word macro, “of large scale”, in relation to love. I want to magnify natures beauty and intelligence through my lens to magnify and inspire passion for nature. I intend to magnify love in all forms through my photos, writing, and creativity to inspire healing and love for nature, oneself, each other, and all life. Our true nature is found in nature.  Our health on all levels, being mind, body, and spirit, is reliant on this innate connection to Mother Earth through plants and the elements. We have a responsibility to sustain the health of the planet, ourselves, all life, and therefore future generations. We need to re-establish and strengthen this connection to uphold this responsibility.

The first seed for Macro Love Photography sprouted in my mind around 2004 after I bought a macro lens for my camera for an unrelated reason. I started experimenting with it and fell in love with nature photography, especially macro photography of wildflowers. I grew up in the Southern Interior of British Columbia, Canada, and moved a lot throughout my life. With my love for the outdoors and hiking, I ended up with a large, varied collection of wildflower photos from all over Southern BC. I felt the need to share them, so in 2014 I created a Facebook page and named it Macro Love Photography. I began dreaming of the possibility of turning it into a business some day and how it might look. Now is some day… and here it is! I knew from the beginning; it had to reflect and inspire the passion I feel for nature to inspire others. I’m excited to bring you ongoing creations including, but not limited to, greeting cards and oracle decks.
